Twin Oaks Dining Table
Twin Oaks is a dialogue between our work and that of the Belgian designer, Cédric Etienne.
The essence of the table lies in the qualities of its composition. The table is split symmetrically between the two materials, forming a dialogue between the wood and the bark of the oak tree. The materials are, in a sense, twin oaks.
The table is composed slowly, with attention to each step of the process. In our workshop in Spain, we prepare the oak elements of the table and the structural frame to support the bark. Cédric collects and dries the bark in Portugal. The bark is then brought to his atelier in Belgium, where he works by hand with the material, defining the texture and finish. The finished material is then sent to the atelier in Spain, where we compose the table, creating a dialogue between the two different forms of oak.
